So, I'm David and I’m delighted that my work has caught your eye. I have been passionate about photography since I bought my first enthusiast camera as a teenager. I love fine coffee, authentic Italian food and have a slight obsession with Star Wars. I have two beautiful children and an awesome wife who are the centre of my world.
I drink an absurd amount of coffee and have a penchant for nutty Biscotti. I have studied and graduated from both Aberdeen and Glasgow Universities and now reside in Lanarkshire. I rarely leave home without my camera.
I have always enjoyed expressing my creative side, and fell in love with photography as teenager, when I purchased my first professional camera. Ever since, I been in love with documenting the world around me and I believe that the most fascinating way to tell a story is through photography.
As a photographer, I ironically do not enjoy getting my own photograph taken, yet I am highly skilled in enabling my clients to relax in my presence. Most of my clients are quick to tell me that they feel the same and this is something I can relate to entirely, which allows me to capture them at their absolute best. My aesthetic is a combination of documentary/reportage and creative portraiture. Being personable is a requirement for this and I am fortunate to work in a profession where I get to meet lots of lovely people and share my passion with them.
Photography, above all else, is about people. It's about the interactions between people, and the fleeting, perfect moments which decorate our lives. Love underpins much of what I do. My love for my children. My love for my wife. My love for photography. My love and passion to always do the right thing. My goal is to ensure that this comes through in every single frame that I capture. My experience has taught me how to anticipate the perfect moment, how to see beauty and adoration through the lens, and I would love to tell your story.
I work with some of the best equipment available. Previously a Nikon and Fuji user, I am now heavily invested in the latest technologies from Sony. My main camera is the Sony A9 and I use a variety of the highest quality, professional lenses. My favourites are the Sony Zeiss 55/1.8 and the Sony FE 70-200/2.8 G Master. Where required, I use Rotolight Neo LED lighting and professional speedlights in balance with available natural light. This allows me to ensure that I can get the most from our session and that you will come away with a beautiful series of photographs.
